Starting AGAIN.

Why is it that blogs are eerily similar to resolutions we set each year? It is so hard to do all the work stuff, home stuff, and find time to post a blog or two (or following that fitness regimen you swore you'd start).

I am now going to try my best to post at LEAST twice a week. Perhaps a weekend schedule would be more fitting!

I have another fun thing to post about it's called NO CARBS. Been trying my hand at a low carb lifestyle and I must say it's been going rather well. There's some serious science backing up these plans, so I'm faithful that it'll all come out nicely in the end. Hopefully nicely = size 6ish.

Anywho, first one of many (hopefully) and I usually keep 'em short, so read away or follow away - whichever your heart desires. I'm off to eat cauliflower-crusted pizza (*will share the recipe later!!).

pound-for-pound

Well, pound for pound challenge, welcome to my life. I guess it means business now... :) Today is my 4 mile run and tomorrow is a 5 miler. Let's see if my unexpandable lungs can handle it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Be safe & enjoy the heck out of the sunshine!

Bootcamp & an article.

Howdy, folks.

I’m out sick, but still counting my WW points strong! It’s boring trying to follow a diet – I’m at home so at any moment, the kitchen is just seconds away, pining for my return to the fridge. Luckily for me, even with the fridgey calling, I can’t do much damage. I decided about a month ago that I can’t eat bad foods if I don’t buy them. It’s worked so far. Yesterday I was doing every single thing I could to NOT go to Chick-fil-a for lunch. I won against my inner chicken demon – yay! I instead went with the ole’ Santa Fe Rice & Beans from WW SmartOnes. I wanted a little bit of something extra, so I ended up putting my R&B on a mini corn tortilla. It made it 10x the delish – just a thing maybe you could try if you want a little something different.

Check out Groupon.com today for a whole lot of money off a whole lot of pain. I personally am scared of Bootcamp – but good luck to those of you who wish to go. My problem is getting into a cardio routine. I still lift weights and
that is essential in weight loss, but I’m not going to sit around and ask Sergeant Slaughter to take a baseball bat to my hamstrings!

Here’s a little article I found on Twitter – read it!

Have a lovely, loserific day!

the sickness came with a quickness

So, I've been a crappy writer the past week+ b/c we've been working like crazy towards the clients' visit. I am currently sick as a dog and can't even sit up without sneezing up a storm - I blame super late nights and a sick roommate for this. Oh well, guess that's just how the cookie crumbles.

This weekend has turned into a big giant kaputz. I'm not even sure if that's a word, but I'm creating it now if it's not. I was excited to hang with friends and eat Hibachi tonight and eat brunch tomorrow... buuuuuuut, the germs are eatin' me alive so I am currently a couch-dweller.

I can't even think of anything important or witty to say. Sorry people, I guess I will try to sleep this off.

think fast!

Trying to put a little something in here before this laptop battery dies! Unfortunate because I had quite a bit of work to knock out so my day could go smoother tomorrow. Now, I suppose I have to be at work at like 745a~! yikes.

Had a lovely weekend and a great time trying to make myself become a runner. Skipped everything possible on Friday. Ate some delicious Everybody's Pizza with Smalls in the Highlands and then watched the most ridiculous movie ever. I'm very serious when I say this might possibly be the worse movie I've ever wasted my life on (a close second: "He's Just Not That Into You"). Couldn't force myself into the frozen ATL weather to make it home so I crashed on the couch.

Saturday came about - went apartment shopping with Vic and finally found an apartment. It's funny b/c we looked for quite some time and tried to find something that would fit our needs perfectly - we ended up going with the first place Victoria mentioned before the hunting even began. We're moving to Toco Hills/N. Druid Hills into Camden St. Clair. If you know where that is, you know that I will be living much closer to the rest of you in the city. Don't hate on my previous abode b/c it was pretty spiff. Right now, it's actually pretty stiff. Frozen. Snow. Main floor won't heat. Can't feel feet with slippers on. 2 shirts. Still cold. Get it??!!

Sunday = funday. Woke up and made some fresh cinammon rolls for a brunch with friends. We ended up having tons of delicious food and tons of delicious conversation. I tried to make Nicola a vampire in my new phone app, but didn't succeed so much. Left brunch immediately after vampire fail and met Jackie for a long workout. Thanks to my awesome friends, I am having a much better time with this new 1/2 marathon goal. If it weren't for everyone that agreed to work out with me, I might want to just fall onto the moving treadmill and be shot to the other side of the room.

Got home a while ago and now I'm working on some fun ViiV stuff & messing around on the WWW. yeah, I said it. Bringin' it back!!!!!!!

Time for bed? Damn - only 7pm! :( Guess I will find a way to drag myself upstairs to upload pics to the WWW (yep) and clean my room up... where are my friends NOW?! and why is it almost time to go to work again? :(

awh, man!

It is with great sadness that I admit I did not go to the gym! I was supposed to meet a friend for birthday fun and maybe birthday food (not to be confused with any recently popular songs related to birthday activities). I didn't want to show up sweaty b/c really, who wants to eat with Sweaty Betty? I think no one.

So, I blew off the gym, my phone died, my charger sucks and damnit if I wasn't in snowy craptastic traffic on 285 wondering how I might get in touch with this birthday kid!? Longest story shorter, I decided to stroll to his work (my previous employer as well). Phone still dead, I stroll into the door with him texting me to tell me that his (my old) boss is standing right next to him and he won't be able to meet me for dinner. Okay - GREAT TIMING! Here I stroll into the office and bam - old boss in face (we luckily played nice the entire time I worked for him)! Anywhoooz, Robby Rob blows dinner to smitherines and I decide to go eat sauce-free Japanese. If you want to know what that is - you gotta ask. Not worth the time you will waste reading if you do not care.

Anyway, I go buy a new phone charger @ Staples (2nd trip there today - seriously!?) and I'm getting juiced up. Motivation and energy to attend treadmill class 101 melts like the sad little Atlanta snowflakes and here I am blogging on my fat rear wondering why I decided it was a great idea to eat my 20 extra WW points for the week.

Another day, another mistake. Oh wellzies.

Date with Little One Smalls tomorrow; long time, no see and thus, I'm pumped.
ROLL TIDE!

I got 5 on it?

Yes, yes I do. And 5 o'clock today = day 2 of half marathon training. I am heading to the gym instead of blogging b/c let's be honest - a long post does not = a fast finish for the ING.

Let's chat more tomorrow, shall we? Ew - that's two 'shall's in two days. Sorry about that!

lettuce discuss...

So I say I shall write a book. What's new? You've been hearing that for quite some time now.

In the mean time until I can force myself to sit down for a moment and scribe... you will receive blog posts.
At work we do a little thing called THE BIGGEST LOSER. This is today's email turned blog. ETB for future references.

"If you think you’re eating healthy at all of these little chain restaurants, I can tell you that you are sadly mistaken. You have to REALLY look with a magnifying glass at the things you are consuming. Unfortunately – the chicken nachos “Billy Barou” @ Moe’s ordered straight up and delicious have 1495 calories and 90 grams of fat. YES – 9-0!

(insert main burrito pic here)

Here’s how to make those a little sweeter on the calorie budget –

Fried corn tortillas (chips) - Hello, Moe. Can I please have just a few chips? Max needs for chips is 15 tortilla chips. Yes, they are still not the greatest for you but they WILL NOT kill your previous good eats for the day. A normal serving for tortilla chips is 12-15. Stick with those numbers.

Cheese, please – holy Moely, they love that stuff there! Firstly, they give you a giant ladle (up to 3 depending on the person working) full of it. Okay – yeah, that’s a lot. HOWEVER, they then add on the shredded cheddar/Mexican blend. There is a way to beat the cheese bandit – ask for just a small amount of cheese. Cheese is actually good for you – calcium consumption can lead to loss of belly fat. NOTE: No, you can’t eat just cheese and be thin for life ~ SORRY! Ask for a “very little” bit of the melted cheese and skip the cheddar blend!

Meats for Treats - Chicken! Pollo! Bock Bock!! Try to stay away from beef (they don’t use filet, trust me), pork (not sure the part of the pig either), and tofu. Tofu is usually great if you make it yourself, but at Moe’s they toss it on an oily grill and fry, fry, fry! Yep, it tastes awesome but it will bulge that belt! Keep to the veggies or do your best to love the chicken!

Veggies – go for beans, they keep you full for a while and have great benefits too (iron, manganese, blood sugar stability, antioxidants, tons of fiber, & protein, oh my!) Load up on any of the veggies you want. If you add jalapeƱos and their spicy friends you might end up benefitting from some upped metabolism for the rest of the day.

Sour cream – no. Guacamole – not so much, but if you have will power, stick to 1 tsp. max. Salsa – POUR IT ON, baby!"

Peace out my little burritos,
Lyndsay
